Typical Installation
A typical deployment involves installing a small antenna on your roof or balcony. If you are within 2-3 miles of an access point, it is possible to use the radio without a dish (as shown on the right). Sometimes, if you are very close to an access point and have a direct line of site to our access poingt, it may even be possible to obtain a signal from within your home inside a window.

If you are over 2 miles from one of our access points, a dish will be used to amplify the signal. A typical dish and radio installation is shown on the right. The size of our dish is comparable to a typical Satellite TV dish.

After installation of the radio, an Ethernet cable is connected from the Antenna to a room inside your office or home. The inside Ethernet connection can then be plugged directly into your router for Internet access.

Hoosier Broadband is not responsible for inside wiring or connecting your personal computers or networking equipment to the Internet. Wireless Routers are your property. Antennas, wireless access equipment and wired routers are Hoosier Broadband property. For this, we provide additional installation services on a per-hour basis. Please see Other Services section for more information.
